Arrival and Departures

Morning arrival: Buses unload students at 9:00 a.m.
Students should not arrive at school before 8:55 a.m. Afternoon pickup: Dismissal Time: 3:45 p.m.
Departures during the school day require that a parent enter the front door, sign the child out in the office, and wait while the child is called to the office. Please do not go to the classroom as this disrupts instruction.

Parent Input for Student Class Placement

At the end of the year, parents have the opportunity to provide input regarding their child's placement for the next year.  With or without parental input, every child will receive a class placement based on his or her needs for academic excellence.  

Attendance

Students make the most progress when they attend school daily. Parents who set a goal of regular attendance for their student are modeling their belief in the importance of education.

Students who are ill should remain at home. Please notify the school if your child is sick: Banneker (301) 475-0260 or ECC (301) 475-0267.

 When the child returns to school, please send a note that includes the date of the absence and the reason for the absence.

School closings are announced over local radio and television stations.
